ROSY, UNO STILE DI GARBO

Veneta di nascita, sin dalla sua adolescenza è attratta dal mondo della moda, sviluppando il suo estro creativo con la complicità dei tessuti. Dopo gli studi collabora con alcune aziende venete ed inizia un ciclo di insegnamento di modellismo per allievi del Triveneto.
All’inizio degli anni ‘80, ambiziosa di accrescere la propria professionalità, viaggia tra Roma e Parigi, le grandi capitali dell’haute couture, dove ha modo di arricchire grande esperienza.
Nel 1988 apre un atelier a Padova che, per la sua sartorialità artistica, diventa presto punto d’incontro tra personalità di fama nazionale.
Nel 1996 la stilista viene invitata dalla Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, a cui è iscritta, a partecipare alle più prestigiose sfilate dell’alta moda romana ed alla manifestazione televisiva internazionale “Donna sotto le stelle” di Piazza di Spagna.
A seguire, diverse collaborazioni con Rai e con Mediaset, con il cinema e con il teatro, per la realizzazione di capi esclusivi indossati da personaggi dello spettacolo come Katia Ricciarelli, Elisabetta Gardini, Sabrina Salerno, Lorenza Mario, Roberta Capua, Emanuela Foliero, Mara Venier, Stefania Sandrelli, Natalia Estrada, Carmen Russo, Clarissa Burt e con grande onore, alla manifestazione canora di Sanremo 2003 ha indossato un suo vestito la star di Hollywood, Sharon Stone. Nel 2002 apre un nuovo punto vendita nel cuore di Bologna e, di lì a poco, fa il suo esordio nel mercato estero dapprima partecipando ad eventi e sfilate in diverse città europee ed a Città del Messico e dopo posizionando il proprio marchio in alcuni importanti store a New York, Mosca, Berlino, Grecia, Repubblica Ceca, Ungheria, Svezia. Da alcuni anni presenta i suoi nuovi modelli in anteprima alla fiera internazionale più importante del settore “Si Sposa Italia” di Milano. Per la televisione, è stata più volte invitata nelle trasmissioni RAI “Domenica In”, “Cocco di mamma”, “Segreti e Bugie”, “Uno mattina” ed è stata ospite in più eventi nazionali realizzati dalle reti televisive di Canale 5, Rete quattro, Tele 7, tra i quali “Kore Agrigentina” il primo evento di moda realizzato nella Valle dei Templi ad Agrigento.
Per il teatro, ha creato gli abiti di Sabrina Salerno, protagonista degli spettacoli teatrali “Donne sull’orlo di una crisi di nervi” ed “Emozioni”.
Per il cinema, ha collaborato con alcune sue creazioni al film “Vacanze 2000” di Carlo Vanzina.
Per l’editoria, è stata protagonista assieme ad altri illustri personaggi del mondo industriale, della moda e dello sport, (come Giovanni Rana, Mario Moretti Polegato Gilberto Benetton, Marina Salamon, ecc.), nel libro “Diventa leader” del Prof. Ferdinando Azzariti, pubblicato da “Il sole 24 ore”. E’ presente come amica e stilista nelle biografie di Katia Ricciarelli ed, essendo membro della Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, compare con il proprio marchio e la propria storia nel libro “Dizionario della Moda” dove vengono citati tutti i nomi dei più grandi stilisti del mondo.

Che cos’è la moda e come la vive?
La moda è arte, è un modo di esprimere se stessi attraverso ciò che indossiamo. Non deve essere confusa con “il vestire alla moda” o “il seguire la tendenza del momento” ma deve interpretare la personalità. Io non creo l’immagine ma la concretizzo sempre pensando a chi la indossa.
Come vede la donna d’oggi? E l’uomo?
È una donna sempre più forte, determinata, sicura di se stessa, che cerca sempre l’abito adatto all’occasione. L’uomo di oggi è un po’ più fragile e molto meticoloso sulla scelta dello stile di abiti ed accessori.
Quando ha iniziato la Sua carriera?
Ho sempre avuto una grande passione per la moda, fin da ragazzina mi divertivo a creare i vestiti per le bambole. Poi ovviamente tutto si è consolidato con lo studio, la pratica e i viaggi tra le capitali della moda, Roma e Parigi.
Qual è il segreto del successo di Rosy Garbo?
La grande passione che metto in quello che faccio. Ogni creazione per me è un’opera d’arte che prima idealizzo, poi disegno e infine realizzo con lo stile più appropiato ed i materiali più ricercati.
Ci racconti come Garbo è diventata famosa.
Sicuramente la sartorialità artistica rosyGarbo ha avuto grande visibilità con l’apertura del primo atelier nel cuore del centro storico di Padova divenuto da subito punto d’incontro di grandi personalità di fama riconosciuta a livello nazionale. Alla serata di inaugurazione erano presenti due testimonial d’eccezione (e tutt’ora grandi amici), Katia Ricciarelli e Pippo Baudo. ROSY, A GARBO STYLE

Born in the Venice region, she was attracted to the fashion world back in her teens when she developed her creative inspiration with the aid of fabrics. On finishing school, she worked with some Venetian companies and began a cycle of model teaching for students in the Triveneto region. In the early 80s, eager to enhance her own professionalism, she travelled between Rome and Paris, the leading haute couture capitals, where she was able to further enrich her experience.
In 1988 she opened her own designer studio in Padua where her artistic tailoring soon became a meeting point for famous Italian people.
In 1996 the designer was invited to the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, of which she is a member, in order to take part in the most prestigious Roman high fashion parades and the international television show, “Donna sotto le stelle” (Woman by Starlight) in Piazza di Spagna.
This was followed by a series of contracts with Rai, Mediaset, cinema and theatre to make the exclusive clothes worn by stars from the entertainment world, such as Katia Ricciarelli, Elisabetta Gardini, Sabrina Salerno, Lorenza Mario, Roberta Capua, Emanuela Foliero, Mara Venier, Stefania Sandrelli, Natalia Estrada, Carmen Russo and Clarissa Burt. She also had the very great honour of designing the clothes for the Hollywood star Sharon Stone at the song festival in Sanremo 2003. In 2002 she opened another sales point in the centre of Bologna and, just a little later, made her debut on the foreign market by firstly participating at events and parades in several European cities and in Mexico City, and then by selling her own brand in some top stores in New York, Moscow, Berlin, Greece, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Sweden. In recent years she has been presenting her new models at the preview event of the most important international fair for bridal wear “Si Sposa Italia” in Milan. She has been invited to appear several times on RAI programmes such as “Domenica In”, “Cocco di mamma”, “Segreti e Bugie” and “Uno mattina” and has made guest appearances on a variety of national television channels such as Canale 5, Rete Quattro and Tele 7, including “Kore Agrigentina”, the first fashion event carried out in the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento.
In terms of theatre, she designed the clothes for Sabrina Salerno, the leading lady in the theatrical performances of “Donne sull’orlo di una crisi di nervi” and “Emozioni” (‘Women about to have a nervous breakdown’ and ‘Emotions’).
And for the cinema, she collaborated on some of Carlo Vanzina’s “Vacanze 2000” film sets.
As for publishing, she has played a leading role, together with other famous people from the industrial, fashion and sport worlds (like Giovanni Rana, Mario Moretti Polegato Gilberto Benetton, Marina Salamon, etc.) in the book “Diventa leader” (Become a Leader) by Prof. Ferdinando Azzariti, published in “Il sole 24 ore”. She appears in Katia Ricciarelli’s biography as her friend and designer and, being a member of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, she has her own brand and profile in the “Fashion Dictionary” which lists all the names of the best and most famous designers in the world.
What is fashion and how do you live it?
Fashion is art. It is a way of expressing yourself through what you wear. It shouldn’t be mistaken for “dressing fashionably” or “following the latest trend”, but should interpret one’s own personality. Rather than create an image, I give it substance by always thinking of the person who is going to wear it.
How do you see the woman of today? And the man?
Women are becoming consistently stronger, more determined and sure of themselves. They are always looking for the right dress to fit the occasion. Men, on the other hand, are a little more fragile and very meticulous about their choice of style and accessories.
When did you embark on your career?
I have always had a huge passion for fashion. When I was a little girl, I loved making clothes for my dolls. Of course then it all came together with my education, practice and travels between the fashion capitals of Rome and Paris.
What is the secret of Rosy Garbo’s success?
It is the love that I put into what I do. Every new creation for me is a work of art. First I get an idea, then I design it and finally I make it in the most appropriate style and the best materials.
Tell us how Garbo became famous.
The artistic tailoring of rosyGarbo was certainly extremely well publicised with the opening of the first studio in the centre of Padua where it immediately became a meeting point for some of the most famous people in Italy. Two exceptional celebrities, Katia Ricciarelli and Pippo Baudo, (who are my very good friends even now) were at the opening evening. I then participated in the Roman High Fashion parade and the international show “Donna sotto le stelle” at Piazza di Spagna… (to be continue on the magazine)
